Inside a typical roof

What’s under your shingles?

A roof is a system of layers. Knowing which one has failed is the difference between a small repair and a new roof.

  1. 01

    Shingles

The layer you can see. It sheds water and takes the sun, wind and hail. Missing or curling shingles are often the first warning sign.

  2. 02

    Underlayment

A water-resistant sheet beneath the shingles. If water gets past the surface, this is the second line of defence.

  3. 03

    Ice and water barrier

A self-sealing membrane often used at eaves, valleys and around chimneys and vents, where leaks most often begin.

  4. 04

    Roof deck

The boards everything is fastened to. Soft or rotten decking is a common reason a small leak becomes a bigger job.

Illustrative. Not to scale. Actual roof assemblies vary by material, manufacturer and local building code.

Why homeowners call

What you can expect from us.

  • Photos of what we find

You see the same photos we see, so you can judge the problem for yourself.

  • Repair before replace

If a repair will do the job, we say so. Replacement is recommended only when repairs stop making sense.

  • Written scope and price

Every job starts with a written description of the work and the price, agreed before anything begins.

  • A tidy site

We plan for clean-up, nail sweeps and protecting your garden as part of the job, not as an extra.

Service areas

Working across the north and west suburbs.

Questions

Common questions, plain answers.

Is an inspection request a booking?

No. Your request goes to the office, and someone contacts you to agree a time that suits you both.

Should I repair or replace my roof?

It depends on the age of the roof, how widespread the damage is, and how often it has been repaired. After the inspection we explain both options and why we recommend one.

How long does a replacement take?

Most homes take one to three days of work on site, depending on the size of the roof, the weather and the material. You get a schedule before work begins.

Do you help with insurance claims?

We can document the damage with photos and a written report for your insurer. The claim decision is always between you and your insurance company.

What happens to my information?

It is used only to respond to your enquiry. See the privacy page for details.
